Application of Pro/E Behavior Modeling Technology in Sheet Metal Design

I. Overview

The powerful behavioral modeling tools provided by Pro/ENGINEER software are completely seamlessly integrated into Pro/ENGINEER software (2000i or higher), and the analysis of features is like building an Outtrade Feature and a Revolve Feature. ) as convenient. The behavioral modeling tool captures the user's design intent and automatically builds a virtual model to meet multiple optimization goals. Behavioral modeling includes the following aspects: structural design, sensitivity analysis, feasibility analysis, optimization design, multi-month design, and user-defined features.

Pro/ENGINEER software is known for its feature-based, parametric, and full correlation. Pro/ENGINEER software has a flexible and versatile way to build solid features, and Pro/ENGINEER's unique behavioral modeling technology makes users more comfortable in design.

The sheet metal design module is a module that is fully integrated with the Pro/ENGINEER base. The design of sheet metal parts is not simply a process of styling. There are two important factors to consider when designing sheet metal:

First, whether the material sample is simple; second, whether the sheet metal part meets the processing requirements after it is fully expanded. There are two methods for the sheet metal setting: first, the shape design after the part is bent and then unfolded. The second is to determine the shape of the material and then bend it. The first method is used to ensure the accuracy and precision of the shape after the part is bent, but it is difficult to ensure the shape of the sample after the sheet metal is fully unfolded. The second method is used to ensure the shape of the sample after the sheet metal is fully unfolded, but it is difficult to ensure the accuracy and precision of the shape after the part is bent. Using behavioral modeling techniques, you can find the combination of the advantages of the two methods. The process of optimizing the part by the behavior modeling method is shown in Figure 1.

Second, the example
The following is an example of the application encountered in the actual design of the author to illustrate the application process of behavioral modeling technology.

1. Part expansion shape requirements
The sheet metal part has a wall thickness of 2.5 mm, and the expanded shape is as shown in FIG.

2. Shape requirements after the part is bent and formed

As shown in Fig. 3, the following dimensions must be ensured after the part is bent and formed: the central axes of the two vertical wall circular holes are parallel, and the distance between them is 125 mm; the distance between the central axes of the two vertical wall circular holes to the outside of the bottom plate is 75 mm. The distance between the two vertical walls is 60mm.
