The tool point can be selected on the workpiece or on the clamping positioning component, but the tool point and the workpiece coordinate point must have an accurate, reasonable and simple position correspondence, which is convenient for calculating the position of the workpiece coordinate point on the machine tool (workpiece coordinate point Machine coordinates). It is best to match the tool point to the workpiece coordinate point.

Tool change point: The machining center has a tool magazine and an automatic tool changer, which can be automatically changed according to the needs of the program. The tool change point should be fixed at the position where the workpiece, fixture, tool and machine tool do not have any collision and interference between each other during the tool change. The tool change point of the machining center is often fixed.

Tool setting method:

Horizontal direction tool (x, y coordinates):

(1) Lever dial indicator for the knife: the tool point is the center of the cylinder hole;

(2) Using an edge finder to align the knife: a round hole or a reference edge;

(3) Use a knife or trial cut to align the knife.
