Recently, the China National Shipbuilding Industry Association released the “Analysis of the Economic Operation of the Shipbuilding Industry in 2015”, indicating that the economic benefits of the whole industry have declined, and the shipbuilding industry is still facing a severe situation. Here are some key points.

1. Basic situation of economic operation
(1) The three major shipbuilding indicators fell by one liter: in 2015, the national shipbuilding completion volume increased by 7.1% year-on-year; the order volume of new ships received decreased by 47.9%. As of the end of December, orders for hand-held vessels fell by 12.3% year-on-year. Export ships accounted for 88.6%, 88.6%, and 95.7% of the nation's shipbuilding completions, new orders, and hand-held orders, respectively.
(2) Declining economic efficiency of the shipbuilding industry: From January to November 2015, there were 1,449 shipbuilding industrial enterprises above designated size, and the main business income increased by 2.2%. The total profit of shipbuilding enterprises above designated size decreased by 37.3% year-on-year.
