CNC milling machine tool offset

If the NC program uses the tool radius compensation command, the tool radius compensation value must be set by the tool offset method before running this program. The tool radius compensation amount can also be adjusted by the tool offset method. The tool offset has two input methods: absolute value mode and incremental value mode. Which input mode is set by the machine's default parameters.

1. Enter the tool offset in absolute mode

To input the tool offset amount, press the tool offset function key MENU OFFSET to display the tool offset page on the CRT. As shown in Figure 1, press the PAGE button to adjust the display page.

1) Selected tool offset number

There are two ways to select the tool number. One method is to press the CURSOR↓ or ↑ cursor key to move the cursor to the tool offset number you want. If you press the cursor button continuously, the cursor moves sequentially on the screen until it is found. The required tool offset number (if the cursor is over this page, it will go to the next page); another method is to press the NO QP button, enter the tool offset number you want, and press the INPUT button to select the desired Tool offset number.

2) Enter the tool offset value (with decimal point)

Press the INPUT key to enter the tool offset value. As shown in Figure 2, the tool offset number is 25 and the input tool offset value is 15.4 mm.

2. Enter the tool offset amount in incremental value mode

Incremental value mode input tool offset amount refers to the amount of reduction or increase of the input tool offset amount.

E.g

Current tool offset 5.678

Enter the tool offset (incremental value) 1.5

The screen displays the tool offset amount 7.176 (5.678+1.5)

The method of inputting the tool offset amount in the incremental value mode is basically the same as the method of inputting the tool offset amount in the absolute value mode, but the stored tool offset amount is the algebraic sum of the original tool offset amount and the input tool offset amount increment.

3. Attention

The way the machine inputs the tool offset amount is to input the tool offset amount incrementally.

During automatic operation, when the tool offset is modified, the new tool offset is not immediately valid, only when the H code appears again in the program, and the tool offset number specified by the H code and the modified tool offset number in the table. Only valid when met.
