The preparation capacity, a batch of solid waste treatment facilities were put into operation; the preliminary research work of the underground laboratory for high-level geological disposal has made positive progress, and the laboratory site comparison and selection work is being carried out in depth. At present, China and France have achieved all-round and multi-level cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, covering nuclear power design, operation and nuclear safety. In 2013, CNNC and Areva signed a large-scale commercial post-treatment-recycling plant project in China. Academician Li Guanxing, chairman of the China Nuclear Society, said that after the project is completed, it will have an annual post-processing capacity of 800 tons of spent fuel, which will help improve the utilization of uranium resources, reduce the amount of nuclear waste and protect the environment.
