Hainan Province's newly revised "Management Regulations for Pesticides in Hainan Special Economic Zone" (hereinafter referred to as "Regulations") has been implemented since this month. According to the "Regulations," the ban on the sale of banned pesticides in Hainan has greatly increased, from 16 to 52, and the ban on the sale of banned pesticides is the largest in the country.

According to reports, since 2000, Hainan Province has banned the sale and use of 16 kinds of highly toxic and highly toxic pesticides throughout the island, but over the years, highly toxic pesticides have been banned. In particular, at the beginning of this year, some townships used banned pesticides, causing violations of cowpea pesticide residues, and there were weak links in the supervision of pesticide exposure. In order to strictly regulate pesticides, Hainan Provincial Ministry of Comprehensive Agriculture has placed the pesticides restricted by the Ministry of Agriculture into the categories that are prohibited for sale and use in Hainan.

In order to prevent illegal pesticides from entering Hainan Province, relevant departments will set up inspection stations for pesticides at ports such as ports, docks, railway stations, long-distance bus stations, and airports, and set up mobile pesticide inspection stations to inspect the pesticides that enter Hainan. For the production, transportation, storage and sale of banned pesticides, heavy penalties will be imposed: confiscation of illegal pesticides and illegal income shall be imposed, and a fine of between 100,000 yuan and 200,000 yuan shall be imposed; and for pesticide business entities, their pesticide operating licenses and business licenses shall be revoked; Constitute a crime, be held criminally responsible.

At the same time, the "Regulations" proposed for the first time that the use of banned pesticides also imposes heavy penalties. In the production of agricultural products, the use of banned pesticides shall impose a fine of 2,000 yuan up to 30,000 yuan on individuals and a fine of 100,000 yuan up to 200,000 yuan on units.

The person in charge of the Hainan Provincial Department of Agriculture said that the significant increase in the number of banned pesticides will not affect Hainan's agricultural production. On the contrary, it will further protect the quality and safety of agricultural products and further promote the construction of ecological provinces and the construction of international tourism islands.

While expanding the list of banned pesticides, in order to guide farmers to use pesticides safely, the Hainan Provincial Department of Agriculture also formulated a list of recommended pesticides for the prevention and control of various pests and diseases. There are more than 150 kinds of pesticides, all of which are highly efficient and low-toxic.
