1*FAG Bearing Cleaning

When disassembling the lower bearing for inspection, first record the appearance of the bearing, confirm the residual amount of the lubricant, and then, after sampling the lubricant for inspection, wash the bearing. As a cleaning agent, gasoline and kerosene are commonly used. Remove the bearing cleaning, sub-coarse cleaning and fine precision washing, respectively, in the container, put the first metal mesh bottom, so that the bearing does not directly contact the container's dirt. In the case of precision cleaning, if the bearing rotates with dirt, it will damage the rolling surface of the bearing and care should be taken. In crude cleaning oil, use a brush to remove the grease and sticky material. After roughly cleaning, turn it into a fine wash. In the finish washing, the bearing is carefully cleaned while rotating the washing oil. In addition, cleaning oils should always be kept clean.

2*FAG bearing inspection and judgment

In order to determine whether the disassembled bearing can be reused, check it after the bearings have been cleaned. Carefully check the condition of the raceway surface, the rolling surface, the mating surface, the wear of the cage, the increase in the bearing clearance, and the presence or absence of damage or abnormality in the dimensional accuracy. For non-separable small ball bearings, the inner ring is supported horizontally with one hand and the outer ring is rotated to confirm smoothness. Tapered roller FAG bearings and other separate bearings can check the rolling surface of the rolling element and the outer ring separately. Due to the fact that large bearings cannot be rotated by hand, check the appearance of rolling elements, raceways, cages, ribs, etc. The higher the importance of the bearings, the more important it is to check carefully.

Whether or not 3* can be reused is determined by considering the degree of bearing damage, mechanical properties, importance, operating conditions, and the period until the next inspection. However, the following defects cannot be used. Must replace the new bearing.

(1) There is a crack or notch in any of the inner ring, outer ring, rolling element, and cage.
(2) There is a break in either one of the rings or rolling elements.
(3) There is significant slack on the raceway surfaces, ribs, and rolling elements.
(4) There is rust on the raceway surface and rolling elements and there is injury.
(5) Serious indentations and scars on the raceway surfaces and rolling elements.
(6) There is a significant creep of the inner ring inner diameter surface or outer ring outer diameter surface.
(7) Discoloration caused by heat is significant.
(8) Bearings sealed with grease, seals, or dust cover are significantly damaged.
