Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics has made new progress in monoatomic catalysis research

The team led by Zhang Tao, a researcher of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently collaborated with Prof. Liu Jingyue, a researcher of the “Thousand People Project”, and Prof. Li Wei of Tsinghua University to make new progress in the field of monoatomic catalysis: Successful preparation with iron oxide as a carrier. Single-site Ir (Ir) catalysts were discovered, and compared with sub-nanometer and nano-germanium catalysts, the catalytic efficiency of single atom gallium is "one to ten," which is the most important active site of the catalytic reaction and plays a leading role in catalytic performance.

The study has published the internationally renowned magazine "American Chemical Society". The successful preparation of monoatomic catalysts not only helps to understand complex catalytic reactions from the atomic level in the basic sciences, but also in the fields that rely on precious metal catalysts, such as fuel cells, petrochemicals, fine chemicals production, and automotive exhaust gas purification. The application process also has guiding significance and is expected to develop a series of low-cost, high-activity supported catalysts.
